Prove your inner NBA Star and join the NBA 2K League.
NBA Professional esports collaborated with 2k games to hold a two-part tryout process on January 1 to 31, 2018.
Brendan Donohue, NBA 2K League’s managing director, laid out the details on NBA 2K subreddit. For the first part of the tryout, players need to win 50 games in NBA 2K18’s Pro-Am mode online.
You have to be 18 and above in order to qualify. Players who are interested to play professionally can participate in tryouts from the comfort of their homes. This is open to both PS4 and Xbox one NBA 2K18 players.
50 player wins must be earned only at the tryout period. But if players did not make it to 50 wins, Donohue has high hopes that more professional 2K opportunities will knock on the doors of high-skilled players.
It doesn’t matter if you win 50 games by as a team you usually play with, as a walk-in, or a combination of both. As long as you win 50 games, that should be good. But, winning more than 50 games doesn’t increase a player’s chance to get scouted.
Second part of the tryout
Players who will get chosen from the first tryout, will advance to the second part. Donohue kept the curtains closed, for he did not discuss on how the second part will work yet. It left the unanswered questions with “more details to come soon”.
Of course, things will get tougher from there. Players will undergo serious scouting from the League with a balanced play environment. Passing the tryout is just the start, the real challenge will start on March. The chosen ones have to be prepared to compete. If you manage to get in, you have to be ready to move in the city that will draft you.
