The Activition Editorial Manager Kevin Kelly is hinting on big news next week. Could this be the release date of the classic FPS?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of (if not) the best COD games ever. Literally anyone can agree with that. From the storyline to its multiplayer mode, the game packs a full punch to whoever plays it. It definitely changed the landscape of war-based shooters when it came out in 2009. Historical storytelling and the creative cost of it’s product is worth every penny. Modern Warfare was also ambitious, boasting of a $285 million total cost with inflation. With all the list of achievements and crowd favors, is it Modern Warfare’s time to have a ‘modern’ version?
So what’s the hype all about? Who’s feeding the flames?
The rumor started on leaks about the remastering of the game. Amazon released an accidental listing, stating that the remastered version of the game is coming out on April 30 2018. Reddit threads also erupted with various theories and speculations. Now though, after a recent stream by Editorial Manager Kevin Kelly, the flames are probably going to rise a little bit more. After being asked if there’s a ‘big’ announcement next week, he answers yes. People are now starting to talk about the possibility of the release date of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. That said, there’s still no concrete announcement about the game yet, There’s not even a concrete announcement that it is in the works. However the recent video made us wonder what Activision’s “big announcement” could be about.
I did not say CoD players will be happy about the announcement because it is not CoD related – or is it? [laughs]. I will say no more, you will find out very soon. – Kevin, after backtracking on the comment on the Twitch Clip
