Alibi is a defender which has been inspired from the Italian Raggruppamento Operativo Speciale unit.
The Second season of Year 3 of Rainbow Six: Siege is approaching. Ubisoft has been revealing a few new features of the new season one by one and the latest is a new operative, Alibi. She will be a part of the next big Rainbow Six update, Operation Para Bellum, which will come to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Alibi is one of the two operatives which will be headlining the new update. Her real name is Aria de Luca. Ubisoft has not revealed the gadget she will be using, but we do see a hologram of herself in the backstory post, which will probably be used as a decoy. “Picking Alibi is an invitation for a battle of wits with your opponents,” Ubisoft posted.
“This Defender is all about finding clever ways to force the Attackers’ hands. Any hesitation comes at a heavy price.”
It is quite possible that the decoy will be her gadget, but we do not yet know how it will be used. Other than that Ubisoft says that “precision shooting skills shot her up the ranks”. Other than that, it was revealed that both the upcoming Operatives will be defenders.
Alibi is a seasoned veteran. Raggruppamento Operativo Speciale and Gruppo Intervento Speciale are the elite forces she has served with. Her back story also says that she worked as an undercover agent in a crime family and brought it down in the end.
Alibi’s revelation almost confirms that the other new Operative will be Maestro. A few months ago, PC players had discovered Alibi’s name as well as Maestro’s name in the game’s file. But we will know for sure when Ubisoft does a full reveal of Operation Para Bellum on May 19-20, during Rainbow Six: Siege Pro League Finals.
