The developers are also open to the idea of crossplay for Warframe.
Just recently, Switch got a port of Fortnite, which is the biggest game in the world right now. Before that it had received a port of Rocket League too. The console is now getting another high profile port, and this time it is Warframe.
Warframe will be ported to Switch by Panic Button. In the past, they have ported games like Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Rocket League and Doom to Switch, all of which have received favorable reviews. Check out the announcement trailer for the game below:
Further details on the port have not yet been announced. The release date has also not been revealed as of yet.
But we might see crossplay for Warframe on Switch. Fortnite already has it, and the news was welcomed by fans across the world. “Since announcing Warframe coming to the Switch, we’ve received an incredible amount of positive reception from both our community and Nintendo players,” Digital Extremes Studio Manager Sheldon Carter told TechRadar. “We’re exploring all options for people to play on and with the Nintendo Switch.”
Whether the game will have cross-progression is yet unknown. If it indeed does end up having it, players will not have to stick to one platform to play with all the progress they have made in game.
Warframe is becoming one of the best free-to-play games right now. When the game first released in 2013, it did not receive much attention from gamers or media alike. But throughout the years, the game has shown a lot of progress. It has received multiple updates like Planes of Eidolon and Fortuna. Another expansion, Codename: Railjack is on its way too. The expansion will add spaceships and dog fighting to the game.
Warframe’s success can be reflected in the fact that the game is now a regular on Steam’s top 10 most played games list.
I know what’s the next game I’m gonna get into.
