Can you imagine completing quests, exploring the Yordle forests with Teemo, or climbing the Mount Targon?
League of Legends released a full detailed map of Runeterra which ignited the flames of players’ imagination. The interactive map has the lore of each country and city of Runeterra. It also includes a picture of every major town. Every summoner knows that lore stories are a big part of the community. Knowing the background of your main champion, it gives you that feeling of connection. Since League has a rich history, why not create a MMORPG out of it?
League of Legends transforming into an MMO is currently the talk in the community. Marc Merrill, co-founder of Riot Games and co-creator of League of Legends quoted a tweet, asking the League community if they want a LoL MMO. The quoted tweet is from the official Twitter account of League of Legends when they released the Runeterra Map.
Should we build a MMO? Yay or nay? https://t.co/doZs8zkLNX

Of course, it’s not really a confirmation of LoL MMO but it’s not impossible right? A lot of pro players and streamers showed their support for the idea. It has indeed driven the imagination of thousands of players on how to go on boss raids or be part of the Noxus and Demacia war. Being caught in the on-going conflict between the dual city-states of Piltover and Zaun is also on the thread. The Runeterra Map showed off countless adventures for every summoner.
However, it’s too early to think that they’re already working on it. A LoL MMO will still need a lot of time. You might even be able to create an avatar for yourself and choose on where you want to be born. Do you want to be a Demacian? A Noxian? A protector of the Ionian empire? Or be a cute fuzzy but terrifying Yordle? There are countless opportunities and content to make out of this.
