Storm and Fury will bring a new map, ranking system and more.
Ubisoft’s attempt at an esports game is what For Honor is. Even though it only has a niche audience, it is getting better, but still not there yet. And Ubisoft is making an attempt to further improve the game with the Storm and Fury update for Season 7.
For Honor Season 7: Storm and Fury update will bring a new map, some “major” hero reowrks and more. The update will release on August 7.
The Secluded Keep will be For Honor’s new map. It is described as a “personal retreat of a pious Lord surrounded by water”. The Secluded Keep will be available in Tribute, Skirmish, Elimination, Brawl, and Duel playlists.
Two of the original heroes, Warden and Valkyrie, will receive a rework. Both the heroes currently feel unviable for competitive play. Their move sets will receive major updates “to make them more versatile and viable for competitive play”.
The ranking system will have a few changes. Firstly, two new ranks are being added: Master and Grandmaster which are “reserved for only the fiercest warriors”. Additionally, Ranked Duels will be available outside of the tournament after the Storm and Fury Update.
All of this is the groundwork for the upcoming For Honor expansion, marching fire which was announced at E3 and is due October 16. The new expansion will bring a new faction and a 4v4 Breach mode. Marching fire will introduce the Wu-Lin faction, which will bring four new heroes: The Jiang Jun, The TIandi, The Shaolin and The Nuxia.
The Breach mode will an asymmetrical 4v4 pvp mode. The teams will be divided into attackers and defenders. It will act out like a full blown siege with an army of pikemen, archers, a battering ram and countless other soldiers.
