Warframe players will be able to equip the Harmony Ribbon on their characters to show their support for patients of Leukemia and other forms of cancer.
The gaming community is massive. Due to its sheer size and voice, it can achieve a lot. When the Battlefront controversy took place, Loot Boxes became a hot topic. A lot of countries raised the issues and some even banned them. More recently, after the Jacksonville mass shooting, the whole gaming community came together in solidarity. Seeing this, EA decided to donate $1 million to their Jacksonville Tribute fund. It is great when developers along with the community stand together in support of a greater cause. That is what Digital Extremes has done by releasing the Harmony Ribbon for Warframe.
In an update yesterday, Warframe received a new attachment, the Harmony Ribbon. Players can equip the Harmony Ribbon on their Warframes to show support to patients of Leukemia.
“Far too many of us have had a direct or indirect experience with one or more forms of cancer”, the post on the official blog reads. “While medical progress continues to be made, Digital Extremes is pleased to be a part of the fight against this too often devastating disease.”
The ribbon will be available to all the Warframe players throughout the month of September (September 1 at 12 am ET to September 30 at 11:59 pm ET). The players will receive it in their inventory when they log in. Players can equip it in “Attachments” in the Warframe “Appearance” menu.
Digital Extremes also encourages those who can to donate money for the cause to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. They also encourage the players to participate in the Light the Night walk. It is a walk organised by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada to raise awareness for Cancer as well as raise money for research and to support Cancer patients and their families.
