What’s the most popular video game in Thailand right now?
You guessed it right — it’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds!
We have a new motto to keep our competitive spirits high: GAME IS WAR.
The Thailand esports community has been thriving for the past years. According to global media TimeOut, Thailand has a growing number of 10 million casual gamers as of the year 2017. 20,000 of these are competitive esports players.
With this being established, the Thai community is ready to see and experience a new esports competitive series.
This September, multinational corporation and technology company Intel and Thailand’s premier esports commentary studio FPS Thailand has prepared something special for us. A new competitive series called Game is War is coming to town!
Win a total prize pool of 15,000 US Dollars!
32 teams will be competing against each other for a chance to win the grand prize of 15,000 US Dollars or 500,000 Thai Baht.
To make the game more fun, each of these teams will have two popular local content creators joining them. Their playground? The challenging PUBG stage, the Sanhok 4×4 map.
This map is smaller than the other PUBG maps Erangel and Miramar, forcing players to form a new strategy to avoid getting caught and killed.
The Thai esports community is in for a real treat.
With the premise of having content creators in Game is War, FPS Thailand owner Chaningnun Thipairote promises compelling content from the series.
We want to ensure that the Thai audience receives the chance to see exciting content built around local internet broadcasters. We believe this series helps bring the Thai audience closer to their favorite stars and Intel is the perfect partner for this project.
Game is War is expected to reach an audience of five million Thais with the help of streaming channels and social media websites.
Save these dates! Game is War airs on September 9, September 30, and October 7, 2018 on twitch.tv/fpsthailand.
