For the first time in four years, CIS organization HellRaisers will be back at the playoff stage of a CS:GO Major.
HellRaisers upset Fnatic in the final day of the FACEIT Major London 2018 New Legends stage that ended up 2-1 (17-19 Mirage, 16-9 Dust2, 16-2 Cache) in favor of the ragtag squad.
History for both sides
Kirill “ANGE1” Karasov who has been with the team since 2014 will savor the sweet comeback along with his comrades. The CIS group clawed all the way from the CIS Minor Championship. From there, they finished the New Challengers Stage with a 3-1 record prior to delivering one of the biggest upsets in this Major.

The fall of the Swedes also mark Fnatic’s lowest finish at any CS:GO Major. For the first time in CS:GO history, Fnatic will not appear at the playoff stage of a Major.
Map 1: A hard time in Mirage
Signs of trouble immediately emerged for Fnatic as they opened Mirage on a pretty bad note. HellRaisers on T side kicked everything off, claiming the first six rounds of the map despite Mirage being the pick of the Swedes.
HR closed the half 11-4 and even went further despite Fnatic winning the pistol round. Down 14-5, Fnatic went surging for 7 consecutive rounds. HR managed to inch closer to map point but Fnatic’s momentum showed off as they force overtime.
Fnatic eventually took control to close out mirage 19-17 behind Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson and in-game leader Richard “Xizt” Landström.
Map 2: 2nd half dusting
The first half of Dust 2 saw both teams stringing rounds on their own. Fnatic took the first 3 rounds on CT side before HR grooved for 6 consecutive rounds of their own. Despite the momentum, Fnatic closed out the half in their favor 8-7.
The trend changed come 2nd half as Issa “ISSAA” Murad took over the map, helping HR win 9 of the first 10 rounds to eventually tie the series 1 map apiece.
Map 3: Massacre in Cache
With momentum on their side, HR came swinging in Cache. The CIS team went on to claim the first 9 maps before Fnatic could barely answer. However they were immediately reset as HR closed the half 13-2.
ISSAA continued to deliver in the 2nd half after a quad kill in the pistol round, paving way for his team to close out Cache 16-2 and knock Fnatic out of the Major.
